Meet Dina Gonzalez-Piña, 2025 Undergraduate Commencement Speaker

Dina Gonzalez-Piña

As a prominent leader in California’s Central Valley, Dina Gonzalez-Piña has dedicated several years to serving her community.

Gonzalez-Piña has a background in Christian higher education, having inspired students at Fresno Pacific University for more than 23 years in her role as associate dean of multicultural ministries. She holds a master of arts in education and a bachelor of arts in social work, both from Fresno Pacific University, as well as an urban leadership certificate from Fuller Theological Seminary.

She served on the board of the Christian Community Development Association for nine years and currently sits on the boards of Seattle Pacific University and the Fresno Latino Leadership Network. She is also a member of the Board of Faith and Life of the Pacific District Conference of Mennonite Brethren.

Gonzalez-Piña has decades of experience in pastoral and administrative leadership, multicultural ministries, and racial equity. She advocates for underrepresented communities within Christian higher education and promotes learning, exploration, and global engagement to empower future leaders.

Since 2020, she has served as the regional executive director of the West Coast Mennonite Central Committee, a faith-based global nonprofit relief organization. As a visionary and changemaker, she leads her team and partners with churches and community organizations to advance the mission of relief, development and peace in the name of Christ.

She is married to Dr. Xavier Piña, and they are the proud parents of college freshmen Samuel and Rebecca Piña.
