Accounting
What is something you wish everyone knew about your major?
Accounting might sound daunting and boring due to the stereotypes people has on this subject. But once you get to understand the accounting language, it makes understanding the financial statements and business activities so much easier and more interesting. People can understand how a businesses and the economy interact, which is so relative to our daily lives.
What was your most impactful class?
I can’t remember a class that impacted me the most, however, I think the support and knowledge that I got from my professors were the things that influenced me the most. I don’t want to sound too nerdy but if we really have to narrow it down, it will be financial accounting because that was when I found my passion for accounting which then lead me to change my major.
What are some of your career goals?
I hope that through my job, I can help business owners understand the financial situation of their business better so that they can grow their business by making the best financial decisions. Since I’m an international student, I would also like to get into international accounting.
What advice do you have for incoming students?
Even though accounting might be intense and overwhelming at first and that you still dislike it at the end, but just give it a fair try. Your perspective might change. (btw, if you want to pass the classes, Practice is key🔑!)
