When junior Garrett Mullett isn’t hiking or heading
off on a camping trip, he’s hitting the books — hard.
“I’m super dyslexic,” he says. “Assignments can take
me three times as long as my classmates.” The triple
major (Business Administration, Economics, and
Global Development Studies) relies on resources
in SPU’s Center for Learning. Thanks to programs
that scan assignments into audio files, Garrett can’t
remember the last time he read something over five
pages, and he’s made the Dean’s List every quarter. “I
utilize everything I can get from CFL,” he says. “It’s
not something to be ashamed of. It’s empowering.”
