All high school seniors, including Running Start or Dual Enrolled students (including those with an AA) will complete general education and nursing prerequisite coursework prior to beginning the nursing program. Apply to Seattle Pacific University through the Common Application or SPU application, select "nursing intended student". High school graduates holding an AA or DTA may apply to the nursing program after completing their first quarter at SPU.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a current SPU student enrolled full time
- Maintain a GPA in all SPU coursework of 3.0 or higher
- Maintain continuous enrollment at SPU
- Maintain high levels of integrity, honesty, and respect.

Direct admission
If you are a highly qualified high school senior, you may be considered for direct admission to the nursing major. The decision is based on your application to SPU through the Common Application or SPU application. Provisional freshman admission to the major is limited and competitive.
Priority consideration for direct admission include:
- An excellent high school GPA
- Strong SAT or ACT scores if you choose to submit scores for admission (see test score policy)
- An Early Action application (submitted by November 1) indicating nursing as your intended major
Progression and final admission to the nursing program requires that all nursing prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum grade of “C” (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) to be considered successfully completed, with a cumulative prerequisite GPA of 2.85 or above (for pre-requisite courses taken at SPU); or a cumulative GPA of 3.5 for all transfer pre-requisite courses. There can be no more than two (2) repeats of any prerequisite courses due to an earned grade below 2.0 (C- or lower). Applicants that exceed the Prerequisite Retake Policy are no longer eligible for the Nursing program. Students must also maintain good academic standing at SPU and high levels of integrity, honesty, and respect.
If you are a Running Start or Dual Enrolled student, you must maintain continuous enrollment at SPU for at least two quarters and submit a Commitment of Entry Form to the Nursing Program in your second quarter at SPU. After which, you must maintain full time enrollment to maintain Direct Admission status.
