Arlicia Etienne’s first trip outside the Pacific Northwest wasn’t a road trip to California or a summer visit to Yellowstone. Instead, she went all the way to Rwanda with SPRINT (Seattle Pacific Reachout International). There she gained a deeper understanding of reconciliation from a community once torn by war and genocide.
Next she studied abroad in London with fellow sociology majors, and Arlicia officially caught the travel bug. After graduation this spring, she plans to keep exploring. “It’s a big, beautiful world,” she says, “I have a lot to learn, and a lot of people to learn about.”
