Life and leadership
The life and leadership of John Perkins has influenced many to have an enduring hope and vision for transformed communities. In this vision we are encouraged to cross ethnic, racial, and socio-economic boundaries, share in each other’s story, and bear one another’s burdens. In the midst of diversity and ecumenism, we become aware of differences and how they offer an opportunity for the message of reconciliation to be lived in new and exciting ways.
Sharing in his legacy
Through the commitments of the John Perkins Center, SPU joins those leaders and organizations in our city, nation, and world seeking to honor God’s creative diversity and model reconciliation. The John Perkins Center was created to institutionalize Seattle Pacific’s desire to always learn from and share with others the life and legacy of John M. Perkins. We believe his life story, principles of community development, and ministry of reconciliation can help many participate and contribute to the health and wholeness of our campus, city, and world.
