SPU Ranks #3 in Best Values; #14 in U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Regional Universities”
Seattle, WA – Seattle Pacific University ranked No. 3 in the category “Best Colleges – Best Values” in the West in U.S. News & World Report magazine’s 2011 college rankings. U.S. News describes the schools in this category as “above average academically and cost considerably less than many other schools when the financial aid that they dispense, in the form of need-based grants and scholarships, is taken into account.” The Best Values rankings were based on three variables; ratio of quality to price, percentage of all undergraduates receiving need-based scholarships or grants, and average discount.
In another U.S. News category, Seattle Pacific ranked in the top 15 colleges and universities in the magazine's Western region, which includes institutions from Texas to Hawaii. SPU ranked No. 14 in the category Best Regional Universities (West), institutions that provide a full range of undergraduate and master's programs and limited doctoral programs. (SPU offers five doctoral programs: two in psychology and three in education.)
