Christmas Concert
Monday, Nov. 25, 2024
Join the SPU Music Department and SPU choirs to celebrate the beginning of the Advent and Christmas season. Choirs will perform familiar carols in which all can join in singing. The free performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in First Free Methodist Church, adjacent to campus.
Percussion Ensemble Concert
Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2024
The Percussion Ensemble will present their autumn concert in the E.E. Bach Theater in McKinley Hall at 7:30 p.m. The 11-member ensemble will perform contemporary works by Nathan Daughtrey, Jim Casella, and Alan Hovhaness along with traditional marimba selections from Guatemala and drumming of Susu Ethnic Group of Southwest Guinea. Also on the program will be solo performances by students Sara Mach ("Fragments for Timpani" by John Beck), James Loffink ("Rain Dance" by Alice Gomez and Marlyn Riff), and Dylan Berlier performing his original work “Evening Shores.” Admission is free and open to the public.
Parking and Directions
Guests may park in campus commuter parking lots (with the exception of the S lot) after 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and anytime Saturday and Sunday. Parking is also available on local residential streets as marked.
