Dr. Eigenbrood has served as Dean of the School of Education since 2008. Prior to that time he served as Associate Dean for Graduate Education, Director of the Doctoral Studies Program, Director of Assessment, and Chair of Special Education. Dr. Eigenbrood also continues to teach and serve on dissertation committees in the School of Education’s doctoral studies program.
One of his current research interests is special education law, particularly as it relates to faith-based schools. He has also written and spoken extensively on issues on community and congregational integration of people with disabilities, and school-to-work adjustment for youth with disabilities.
Dr. Eigenbrood is a former special education teacher who continues to be committed to providing quality education to all children. He believes that SPU’s School of Education is uniquely positioned to make a positive impact on P–12 schools through the preparation of excellent teachers, school counselors, school administrators, and other school leaders.
Dr. Eigenbrood, through his involvement with the School of Education’s Center for Global Curriculum Studies, has traveled to China, Korea, Russia, and the UK where he has presented papers on disability issues and quality education for all children.
