Jeff Van Duzer

Jeff Van Duzer has served since 2001 as Dean of the School of Business and Economics at Seattle Pacific University, and Professor of Business Ethics and Business Law. His current areas of research include the ethics of wealth creation and distribution and the applied integration of business and theology.
Prior to his appointment to the School, Jeff was a partner with the international law firm of Davis Wright Tremaine where he practiced for more than 20 years. He concentrated his practice in commercial finance and natural resources. During his tenure with the firm he served for nearly a decade on the firm’s Executive Committee and served as the Partner in Charge of the firm's largest office. Since coming to Seattle Pacific, Jeff has published a book exploring the theology of business, Why Business Matters to God (IVP Academic, 2010). He has also published a number of articles in academic and popular journals and is a frequent speaker on this and other topics.
Jeff received his undergraduate degree from the University of California in 1976 majoring in rhetoric, and received his JD degree from Yale Law School in 1979.
