Spring Quarter Mainstage: Love’s Labour’s Lost

About the Play

The King of Navarre and his friends heedlessly vow to abstain from earthly pleasures — sleep, food, and the very sight of women — for three full years, in order to pursue the delights of the mind. No sooner is the oath sworn, but the determined Princess of France (along with her witty and beautiful ladies-in-waiting) arrives to negotiate an old treaty. It is love at first sight — for some of them. Sparkling banter, outrageous disguises, songs, and dancing follow as love labors to overcome high-minded resolve.
