Education: Artist Diploma, Academy for Music in Vienna, Austria
Mary Kantor received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Washington and graduated from the Academy of Music in Vienna with highest honors in clarinet performance. She has studied with David Atkins, William McColl, and Rudolf Jettel.
As a soloist, she has performed the Mozart Clarinet Concerto and Richard Strauss' Duet Concertino for Clarinet, Bassoon, Harp, and Strings with the Philharmonia Northwest. She has also performed with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, and the Pacific Northwest Ballet. Professor Kantor serves as clarinet coach for the Cascade Youth Symphonies, the Seattle Youth Symphony, and the Bellevue Youth Symphony. She was proud to host Sean Osborn's annual Clarinetissimo in 2012 at SPU with guest professor Richie Hawley from Rice University. At SPU, Professor Kantor directs the Clarinet Choir.
